You already use AI every day
Welcome to the course. Here’s some good news first: you’re not starting from scratch. You’ve probably used AI, short for artificial intelligence, today without noticing.
It works quietly inside things you already use, like the four below. By the end of this unit, you’ll know what they have in common, and how AI assistants come up with their answers.
- Next-word suggestionsYour phone suggests the next word as you type a message.
- Spam filtersYour email moves junk into a spam folder before you see it.
- Photo searchSearch your photos for “beach” and many phones find your beach pictures, though you never labelled one.
- RecommendationsStreaming and shopping sites suggest what you might like next.
