Cookies and storage
No advertising trackers. We store a few settings in your browser to make the site work, and use analytics only if you say yes.
Draft for legal review. This page sets out how Unjargoned intends to work. It will be checked by a lawyer before launch, and may change.
What we always store
These live in your browser’s local storage, not in cookies, and stay on your device. They only do what you’ve asked for, so they don’t need consent.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
uj-level | Your reading level, so every story opens at it. | Until you change it |
uj-editions | Your editions, such as Global and UK. | Until you change it |
uj-visitor | A random number, so you get one “right level?” vote per story. Set when you vote. | Until you clear it |
uj-ref | A friend’s referral code, if you followed their link, until you subscribe. | Until you clear it |
uj-consent | Your analytics choice, so we don’t ask again. | Until you change it |
Analytics, if you agree
With your permission, PostHog (from its EU servers) sets cookies that tell us which stories, levels and features people use, so we can make the briefing better. We never use them for advertising.
Change your choice
We don’t use analytics cookies at the moment, so there is nothing to choose.
