What it does
Jimdo is a website builder from Hamburg, Germany, made for small businesses and self-employed people. Answer a few questions about your business and its AI creates a starting site, with text and images, which you then edit, and you can add a simple online shop. Companion, its AI assistant, suggests improvements and helps you write content.
It suits people who want a straightforward site quickly rather than lots of design options.
Why use it
- A starting site from a few questions.
- Simple to edit, with little to learn.
- A free plan lets you build a basic site and keep it free.
- Its online shop charges no transaction fees.

- Answer its questions about your business.
- Edit the text and images on the site it creates.
- Choose a paid plan for your own domain, then publish.

Beginner Easy to start. You need an account, not any technical know-how.
Made for beginners: answer questions and edit what it makes.
What it costs

Prices change often, so check Jimdo’s own site before you pay.
Watch out for
- It has fewer design choices than bigger builders, so check it suits your brand.
- Its shop suits a small range of products rather than a big catalogue.
- Moving a site to another platform later is hard.
