Our verdict
Being tested. An editor is using Tactiq hands-on; the verdict and score appear here once they sign it off.
What it does
Tactiq is a browser extension that writes a live transcript of your online meetings in Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. After the call, its AI can turn the transcript into a summary, a list of actions or a follow-up email.
Because it works inside your browser, no extra participant joins the call.
Why use it
- No bot joins your calls, which some people find less intrusive.
- The transcript appears live, so you can follow along or catch up.
- AI turns transcripts into summaries, actions and follow-up emails.
- It works across Google Meet, Zoom and Teams in the browser.
How it works
- Add the Tactiq extension to Chrome and sign in.
- Join your meeting in the browser and switch on the transcript.
- Tell everyone at the start that you are transcribing the call.
- After the call, ask its AI for a summary or a list of actions.
- Share or save the notes, and delete what you don’t need.
How hard is it to use?
Beginner Easy to start. You need an account, not any technical know-how.
Install the extension and it starts with your next call, which is why we rate it Beginner.
What it costs
Free plan; paid plans. A free plan with a monthly limit on transcripts and AI use. Paid plans raise the limits and add team features.
Prices change often, so check Tactiq’s own site before you pay.
Watch out for
- With no bot on the call, people may not know they are being transcribed. Tell them.
- Accents, crosstalk and specialist words lower accuracy, so check key details.
Your data
Tell everyone on the call that you are transcribing it. Check Tactiq’s privacy policy for where transcripts are stored and how its AI features handle them.
We haven’t confirmed that Tactiq can keep your data in the UK, so check where it keeps your data before you share anything private or about other people.
