What it does
VEED is an online video editor made by a London company. You upload a video and its AI tools add subtitles, translate them and remove background noise, with stock footage and templates to build on. Its AI Playground can also generate video from text or images, using models from other companies such as Google’s Veo.
It suits small businesses, marketers and creators who want polished videos without learning professional editing software. It runs in the browser, with apps for iPhone and Android.
Why use it
- Automatic subtitles in a few clicks, for people who watch with the sound off.
- Clean Audio removes background noise from a recording.
- Translate videos into more than 50 languages on higher plans.
- Nothing to install, and your projects follow you between the website and the apps.
- Brand kits and shared workspaces help a team keep its videos consistent.
How it works
- Sign up on the VEED website, or download the iPhone or Android app.
- Upload your video, or start from a template.
- Add subtitles automatically, then correct any words it gets wrong.
- Use the AI tools to clean up the sound, translate or add stock footage.
- Export the video and download or share it.
How hard is it to use?
Beginner Easy to start. You need an account, not any technical know-how.
Built for people with no editing experience: the main tools are a click or two away, which is why we rate it Beginner.
What it costs
Free plan; paid plans. A free plan lets you try it, but exports carry a VEED watermark and are limited to 720p. Paid plans remove the watermark and add HD exports, more AI tools and monthly AI credits; higher plans add brand kits, translation and team features.
Prices change often, so check VEED’s own site before you pay.
Watch out for
- Free exports carry a watermark and are limited to 720p, so business videos need a paid plan.
- AI credits on monthly plans expire at the end of each month, so heavy AI use can push you onto a bigger plan.
- Check automatic subtitles before you publish: names and specialist words are easy to get wrong.
Your data
On the free plan, VEED’s terms let it use what you upload to improve its products, including training AI models; this doesn’t apply to paid or enterprise plans. Its main servers are in the EU, on Google Cloud, though some of its suppliers work in the US.
We haven’t confirmed that VEED can keep your data in the UK, so check where it keeps your data before you share anything private or about other people.
