What it does
SS&C Blue Prism makes software robots that carry out repetitive office tasks, such as moving data between systems and processing forms, the way a person would. Blue Prism was founded in the UK and has been owned by SS&C Technologies since 2022. Its newest platform, WorkHQ, runs AI agents alongside the robots, with people checking where needed.
It is aimed at large organisations, especially in regulated industries such as banking and insurance.
Why use it
- It automates high-volume, rule-based work in large organisations.
- Its governance controls are built for regulated industries such as banking and insurance.
- WorkHQ brings AI agents, software robots and people into one managed workflow.
How it works
- Talk to Blue Prism about your organisation’s needs.
- Map the process you want to automate, step by step.
- Have trained developers build and test the robot.
- Run it with monitoring, and update it as your systems change.
How hard is it to use?
Advanced Made for people at home with technical tools, or ready to learn them.
It needs trained developers and careful planning, which is why we rate it Advanced.
What it costs
Paid plans. Paid licences for organisations; ask Blue Prism for a quote.
Prices change often, so check SS&C Blue Prism’s own site before you pay.
Watch out for
- Robots need maintenance when the systems they use change.
- It is designed for large organisations, not small businesses.
Your data
Robots can handle personal and financial data. Check SS&C’s security documents, and agree what each robot may access.
