What it does
Buffer lets you plan, write and schedule posts for your social media accounts, such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, from one place. Its AI Assistant helps you come up with ideas, rewrite posts for each network and draft captions.
It suits small businesses, charities and creators who want to post regularly without logging in to every app.
Why use it
- Schedule a week of posts in one sitting.
- One place for most major social networks.
- The AI Assistant helps with ideas and with rewrites for each network, on every plan.
- A free plan covers a few accounts.
How it works
- Sign up and connect your social media accounts.
- Write a post, or ask the AI Assistant for ideas.
- Adjust it for each network, then pick a time.
- Check the calendar, and look at how your posts performed.
How hard is it to use?
Beginner Easy to start. You need an account, not any technical know-how.
Made for beginners: connect your accounts and schedule posts.
What it costs
Free plan; paid plans. A free plan for up to three accounts, with a limited number of posts queued for each. Paid Essentials and Team plans, priced by the number of accounts, add unlimited scheduling, fuller reports and team features.
Prices change often, so check Buffer’s own site before you pay.
Watch out for
- Scheduled posts still need checking: news can make a planned post look out of place.
- Check that AI-written posts sound like you and are accurate.
Your data
Connecting your accounts lets Buffer post for you. Check its privacy policy, and remove access for staff who leave.
We haven’t confirmed that Buffer can keep your data in the UK, so check where it keeps your data before you share anything private or about other people.
