Our verdict

Being tested. An editor is using HubSpot hands-on; the verdict and score appear here once they sign it off.

What it does

HubSpot is customer relationship management (CRM) software: one place to keep track of contacts, companies and deals, with tools for email marketing, forms, landing pages, sales and customer service on top. Its AI, called Breeze, can draft content and answer questions about your data, and on paid plans its agents take on jobs such as finding prospects and answering customers.

The free CRM suits small businesses starting out, and paid plans add more for marketing, sales and service teams.

Why use it

  • A free CRM keeps every customer and conversation in one place.
  • Email marketing, forms and landing pages connect to the same records.
  • Breeze drafts content and answers questions about your records.

How it works

  1. Sign up for the free CRM.
  2. Import your contacts and connect your email.
  3. Track deals and conversations as they happen.
  4. Add marketing or service tools when you need them.

How hard is it to use?

Intermediate Some set-up, or a little practice, to get good results.

The free CRM is easy to start, but the full platform has a lot to set up, which is why we rate it Intermediate.

What it costs

Free plan; paid plans. Free tools to start, for up to two users, with the Breeze assistant included. Paid Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans are priced per seat, and some AI agents are charged by what they complete.

Prices change often, so check HubSpot’s own site before you pay.

Watch out for

  • Paid plans can rise steeply, so check costs as your list and team grow.
  • Keep your records tidy, or reports and AI answers will be wrong.

Your data

HubSpot holds your customers’ personal data. Check its privacy policy and AI settings, and say in your own privacy notice how you use it.

We haven’t confirmed that HubSpot can keep your data in the UK, so check where it keeps your data before you share anything private or about other people.
