What it does
Sage Accounting is online accounting software from Sage, a UK company. It sends invoices and quotes, brings in bank transactions, handles VAT and files returns to HMRC under Making Tax Digital. Sage Copilot, its AI assistant, helps with tasks such as spotting overdue invoices and answering questions about your figures.
It suits sole traders and small businesses, and many UK accountants and bookkeepers support it.

Routine tasks are simple, but setting up VAT and bank rules takes some learning, which is why we rate it Intermediate.
